Dr. Zalai completed both his medical training and general surgery residency at McGill University in 2011.   He completed his Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship at Brown University in Rhode Island and is board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.  He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.

As an Assistant Professor at McGill University, designer and former director of the undergraduate Digestion & Metabolism course for medical students at McGill, he remains actively involved in teaching undergraduate medical students and general surgery residents.
